Comfort, uncensored was a collaboration between filmmaker and photographer Roni Ahn and fashion journalist Bella Webb, developed as a digital campaign for S by Sloggi (2019).
We wanted to challenge the idea of comfort, questioning whether what makes us comfortable as individuals aligns with what makes us comfortable as a society.
The people featured faced varying levels of self-/censorship while finding their place in the world. At times, the things that made them comfortable – certain pronouns, clothes or attitudes – made others uncomfortable.
Stretching the concept of comfort, reflecting on its size and shape and feel, we can settle back in to a more inclusive comfort.
